Luke Davies is a poet, novelist and screenwriter, known for Lion (2016), Candy (2006) and Life (2015). His books have won many awards, including the inaugural Prime Minister's Literary Award for Poetry for his volume Interferon Psalms, and the Age Book of the Year prize for his volume Totem. He co-wrote the screenplay adaptation of his own novel Candy with director Neil Armfield.- Producer

Luke Davies (He/Him) is a Creative Producer and the Founder of Polari, an award-winning production company that champions the boundlessness of queer and marginalised lives through film, television, and more.
Luke's first TV documentary project 'Stranger in My Family' won the BBC Three Northern Docs Pitch at Sheffield Doc Fest (2022) and is now available on BBC iPlayer.
His first short film What Would Julie Do? was selected for the BIFA-qualifying Women X, Wigan & Leigh, and Sunderland Shorts Film Festivals, and picked up the 'Best Comedy Short' Award at Southport International Short Film Festival & Cotswold International Film Festival, as well as 'Best Production Design' at Women X.
His next short 'On Rest & Movement' will have it's World Premiere at BAFTA-qualifying Bolton Film Festival (2023).
Luke also worked as Assistant Producer on 'Savage Waters', a documentary produced by Whipped Sea, which won Best Picture at Paladino d'Oro Sport Film Festival, and Best Documentary Feature at Liverpool International Film Festival, Wales International Film Festival, and The Richard Harris International Film Festival.
Luke is a BAFTA Connect member, alumni of the BFI Creative Producers School (2019), and was nominated for an RTS Futures Award (2020) for his short film 'Tomorrow'.
Additionally, he was a finalist for 'Young Person in Business' at the North West LGBTQ+ Business Awards (2022), and has been shortlisted for a Northern Gamechangers Award (2023).
Luke has received funding from BAFTA, Creative UK, Screenskills, and the Film & TV Charity to support his growth as an entrepreneur and filmmaker.
Luke is a co-founder of the Queer Filmmakers Network.
